Environmental Supply Chain Risk Radar, parrots, mother and Mugabe

Nobody: “Arjen, you need to add more visuals.” Me: “Okay” how it started I deployed v0.1 of my Environmental Supply Chain Risk Radar, a quarterly decision radar for navigating environmental risk in global supply chains. product page best on a laptop but works on mobile as well Imagine you’re an understaffed sustainability manager with a limited budget at a large corporation. You need to keep an overview of everything “sustainable” for multiple global commodity supply chains, multiple environmental risks, upcoming rules and regulations, latest industry best practices and responses and a plethora of intelligence providers. That was impossible. Until now. ...

Matt Pocock skills, Marketing, Linear, Walter and a Home server

I built and deployed the MVP version of Walter, a quarterly Environmental Supply Chain Risk Radar. It was fun and I learned a lot about skills, MCP, agents, token usage, context, sessions, harnesses, Cloudflare Workers & Pages and AI workflow management. Product Development & GTM; Skills & MCP I never coded or designed anything using harness so I did some research on what people are using. The Matt Pocock skills looked promising and they certainly lived up to the hype. I used wayfinder to explore ideas, narrow scope and focus on a first outcome. Then I used the grill-me skills to get rid of ambiguous terms and make clear decisions. The outcome of the skills are documented in my Obsidian vault in a project (I’m using the PARA method). The tasks I manage with Linear. ...

Claude, OpenCode, Pi

Let’s get ready to build! I installed OpenCode and Pi and was amazed by how smooth the installation goes. Really quick and nice. And after being away from the command line for 10 years, it’s so nice to see the modern TUI animations. Wonderful! I want to use the Claude model family for production, so I signed up for a Pro account. Works great. Installed the Claude Code cli client, authenticated and we’re all good. Then I go to OpenCode to switch the model to Claude Sonnet. It asks me for an API key. No panic, just go to the web dashboard and look around in the settings. Nothing. Checked the documentation and found Anthropic has 2 kinds of subscriptions: chat / cowork (including code) and developer (platform). And the accounts don’t seem to be linked. AND THAT PISSES ME OFF. I’m okay with paying for stuff. But I am not okay with this intransparant bullshit. I haven’t figured out what to do yet. I don’t feel like also paying for an API key. ...

Consultancy to SaaS; a maturity model

I worked for and with many companies and organisations. They are all successful and they are all struggling. Each successful in its own way. And each struggling in its own way. Although, that is how they like to think about themselves: we are unique. Well, yes, you are unique, just like everybody else. And just like everybody else, you are not as unique as you think you are. I started to notice patterns, especially in the struggling. This essay is about those patterns. ...

Navier-Stokes, the Three Birds, and Publishing Early

Super Humans and Super AI I had an issue with my buttondown newsletter. I wrote to support. Got an automated reply telling me they got my mail, they are looking into the issue but since they only have limited staff, working in a US time zone, it might take a bit for a proper reply. Within 1 hour, Steph is in my inbox, kindly explaining the issue and how they would resolve it. I said thank you for the quick answer Steph and for being a kind human Steph and Steph said no problem arjen, we don’t like talking to chatbots, and we don’t want to make you all deal with them either. <3 (<- I got that one from the emoji museum). ...
